Jobless Bristol Man Had £7K Cocaine Stash at Home (This Is Bristol)
The haul belonged to unemployed drug addict Sam Barry, Bristol Crown Court heard, who sold substances to known users to help pay off his dealer.
Barry, 22, of Beaufort Road, pleaded guilty to possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and possessing a Class B drug.
Jailing him for 16 months, the recorder Mr Andrew Oldland told him: “You knew that possessing with intent to supply cocaine is a very serious offence.
“You have been a cocaine addict since the age of 17. You knew full well the consequences.”
Kirsty Real, prosecuting, said Barry was not present when police searched his flat and found 97 grammes of cocaine and four grammes of skunk cannabis, together with £1,000, a set of scales and self-seal bags.
Pc Gave Dealer ‘Data for Cocaine’ (BBC News)
A police officer gave a drug dealer information about operations in exchange for free cocaine for his wife, Southwark Crown Court has heard.
Pc Mark Bohannan, 47, checked the Metropolitan Police’s database for Syed Imtiaz Ahmed, who then supplied drugs to Denise Bohannan, the jury heard.
The officer and his 56-year-old wife deny conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office on or before May 2007.
Mr Ahmed, who admitted his part in the offence, will be called as a witness.
Pc Bohannan, who worked as a field intelligence officer in Catford, south-east London, gave Ahmed details of planned operations, addresses, convictions and information given to the Met by individuals, David Durose, prosecuting, said.
‘Corrupt relationship’
The officer also did not update the police database with information about Mr Ahmed, the court heard.
