Shouldn’t the U.S. Regulate Cocaine Instead of Letting the Black Market Dictate Quality?
People will consume the drug anyway……illegal or not. The question is: Would it be better policy to REGULATE the sale of this substance (and others) OR continue to criminalize and risk tainted products reaching the streets in large quantities.
This same scenario arises when marijuana is laced with something much stronger (cocaine etc.).

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Nearly a third of all cocaine seized in the United States is laced with a dangerous veterinary medicine — a livestock de-worming drug that might enhance cocaine’s effects but has been blamed in at least three deaths and scores of serious illnesses.
The medication called levamisole has killed at least three people in the U.S. and Canada and sickened more than 100 others. It can be used in humans to treat colorectal cancer, but it severely weakens the body’s immune system, leaving patients vulnerable to fatal infections.
Scientific studies suggest levamisole might give cocaine a more intense high, possibly by increasing levels of dopamine, the brain’s “feel-good” neurotransmitters.
9121……………I only say “people will do it anyway” because they have been doing drugs and getting high for thousands of years. But maybe you’re right, perhaps we’ll buck the trend in the next 10 years………lol

What’s the Big Deal With the Energy Drink Cocaine, When Coke Is Named for the Same Drug?
I was watching a news story on one of the cable news networks about the horrible new energy drink Cocaine. I heard from the commentators: how dare they call a drink that and it should be taken off the shelves. Then in the same commentator mentioned how when he was a kid all there was was Coke and Pepsi. I’m pretty sure that Coca-Cola was named for its original main 2 ingredients, the Coca plant from which Cocaine is derived and the Cola bean. I just thought it strange that a doctor’s argument over a publicity stunt was so hypocritical. Any thoughts?
