Could This Be a Cocaine Addiction?

Question by : Could this be a cocaine addiction?
1 month ago i was drunk and snorted a line of cocaine. i passed out about a hour later, and woke up asking for more. so they got more… the next day i also had 1 more line. ever since then every time i get drunk i beg for cocaine unintentionally, i usually dont have memory of asking for it because i black out alot. but my friends are upset because it happens everytime. sometimes my hands shake alot and i get really anxnious. i used to go to sleep by 10 every night, now i cant get to sleep until 4 or 5 in the morning. i wake up thinking about it. i also have flashbacks when im drunk to the time when i did the cocaine. my friends keep saying i need to go to a doctor to get meds for it because im addicted. my mom and friends said my personality has changed, although i dont think it has. idk what to do. i only did it 3 times in 1 weekend. could it really be causing all my problems and the flashbacks?? what should i do? thanks!

Yes, doing it just one time can have effects many months later, if you did it 3 times in one weekend the chances are you’re addicted. You’re thinking about it constantly, dreaming about it, wanting for it, face it, you’re addicted. The best thing you can do for yourself is to get help.

In lab tests animals were put to starve and either choose between large supplies of food vs. very few ounces of cocaine and the choice was the cocaine every time.

Cocaine can be very addictive as well as alcohol. I don’t think after three lines that you are physically dependent on cocaine. I think the bigger problem is your alcohol consumption. Everyone has their moments where they drink too much, but frequent blackouts is not a good sign. If you can’t control yourself when you are drunk, you seriously need to reconsider your relationship with alcohol and drugs. The hand shakes you are describing could be a sign of alcohol withdrawal, not cocaine withdrawal. For your own sake, you might want to take a break from drinking and see if the cocaine use stops as well. If you can’t stop drinking or doing cocaine, it might be time to go seek professional help! It is a very nasty drug to become addicted to. I know many people who had to go to rehab for it.
