Question by lovehurts12802: Crack Cocaine & the Effect on the male sperm?
I was curious as to find out if anyone knows what the effect of smoking crack cocaine is on the male sperm..if a guy is on crack will it make it more difficult for him to get someone pregnant cause of it? And if pregnancy does occur will the unborn child have any deformities or help problems?

Answer by Canuck Dude Drugs like Cocaine can indeed cause birth defects. The risk however is a lot greater if the mother uses these drugs during pregnancy. Basically, if a guy is a crack addict, I would tend to think that he is not father-like quality to begin with. He most likely would have a low sperm count if anything.
Answer by tooter No, the male could be on that and other worse drugs and the sperm couldn’t be bothered. It’s the female who could cause damage if she was the one taking. I asked my doc because I take several meds for anxiety and depression and she basically said what I just told you.
