Question by Alice DeFormed: Help/Advise? Please!? (substance abuse)?
I’m Nervous About Posting This But Here It Goes…

I’m 20 yrs Old & I’ve Had A Coke Problem Off And On For About A Year Now, I Want To Stop Before It Gets Worse, Not Only For Myself, But For My Loved Ones. Im Stopping Cold Turkey, How Do I Maintain This & Recover? (My Family Doesn’t Know) & Are There Any Free Meetings Or Online Support Groups That Would Be Useful?( I’d Love To Hear Any Personal Stories As Well). <3 Thank You For Your Time =) Best answer:

I don’t have any experience with cocaine however, my sister-in-law (and best friend) had her own drug of choice. I attended NA (narcotics anonymous) meetings with her, which are free to attend & they give you so much support & information. From my experience, NA was amazing. Everyone is so supportive, friendly & caring. They are truly great people that care about everyone getting a second chance.

Way to go for realizing you have a problem & admitting it. That’s the first step to your new life. =)

That is how anybody feels when that great cosmic snake comes down and bites you and you feel all that poison entertaining you as you die. And you know there is nothing you can do about it. Trying to fight it back only helps add to the frustration you feel as you know your life as you know it has ended forever. Any true cocaine addict knows that not even one thought of it after he has quit or he can fall right back down there where that cosmic beast is and for many, probably just as much pain to quit again. Most don’t forget. You won’t either. Who knows if you will really make it. It is a lot harder to quit than it is to continue.
