Wondering if I Have Bipolar II Disorder?

Question by tippycanoe: wondering if i have bipolar II disorder?
I’ve had a hypomanic state. I know this because I’ve never felt anything like it before. But the thing is I don’t know if its because I’m bipolar or because I did a lot of coke a couple months ago. I tried coke for the first time in my life a couple months ago and did it several times over the course of a week. Since then I havn’t touched the stuff, but for a month following this week I experienced a state of hypomania. I was overly confident (im usually a very shy person), my mind raced from thought to thought, I was very happy (im usually depressed or indifferent), and it honestly felt like the sky was the limit.

that month ended and i got really depressed after that. I didn’t want to hang out or talk to anyone. I hated my friends for stupid reasons. and i basically shut myself in my room for a couple weeks. right now i feel pretty normal… ive heard of bipolar II with rapid cycling. just wondering if you can have a drug-induced hypomanic state? or am i bipolar?

“Hypomanic” is a contradiction in terms–how casn you have a shortage of an excess. And no, you are not Bipolar II–my son is, and there is no manic state in it at all. Check the DSM IV..
